it’s hard not to see the US as being completely fucked
Discussion
the USG* more specifically.
The consequences of this case are massive
agreed. major ramifications.
however, the usg have locked Ross up for a website, persued Assange for journalism and bombed the fuck out of anyone they don’t like..
Hard to say the dynamic is not already pretty well established.
My trust in the “the law” ended a long time ago.
however, despite all that, i agree - ya gotta keep fighting.
Their freedom is our freedom!
i agree in the case of theirs, and all people wrongly pursued.
If you’re playing a game with someone that keeps breaking the rules, you stop playing with them. You can’t win when it’s rigged. The government can’t hold itself accountable. It can’t prevent itself from violating anyone’s freedom. Its existence is a violation of human freedom. Arguing with it in its own playground under its own rules is just madness. Their layups are worth 3 points and your layup is worth 1.
The indictments should shatter any remaining illusions that following guidance will protect development of freedom tech. Underground development is now required. But sadly you hve to catch a case to set a precedent for good or bad.
underground development has always been a necessity
