Edits are the backdoor to gagging the social experience on Nostr.

On a long enough trajectory, it's the difference between CDBC and Bitcoin. Not yet, but if the seeds sprout roots that take hold, then your future here will be quite different.

Be wise and wary of those who advocate for it and move under the cover of early stage chaos to implement it. Be grateful for those with sufficient insight and awareness to warn about what's happening, and to articulate it.

How allowing edits would spiral out of control?

Don't you think that the core issue with S.M. are closed algoritms that companies bias toward their particular interests?

Edits can also be algorithm-driven and biased.

More to my point, the core issue are centralized SM with dubious closed algoritms

You can still bias unedited content hiding some and promoting the content you want.

For me the best way forward is to try absolutly everithing and let voluntary adoption decide.

I don't have to try something, to know that it's a bad idea. I'm for a voluntary boycott.

I wouuld take that idea with a grain of salt.

Besides obvious things like jumping from a cliff, what you reffer as "I know that is a bad idea" is probably better described as "I think is a bad idea"

You leave no room for reality to proove your asumptions wrong
