Hmm. Or at least the note should be fetched so it's not showing as post not found if no common relays exist. Essentially the gossip model.

what is the gossip model? i always keep on hearing about it, but i donโ€™t know what that means

It makes everyone talk ๐Ÿ˜‚ A client would go out and fetch the notes from relays even if the note writer and the note reader don't share common relays.

ohhh, makes sense ๐Ÿ’œ thank you so much

Itโ€™s enabled by the more complex bech32 ids like nprofile and nevent because they can contain embedded relay information.

Clients that handle it can then use that info to manually fetch from the note authors relay.

I donโ€™t think many clients fully implement this yet though. Because itโ€™s pretty complicated.

nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn does coracle?

ohh, thank you jeff ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ™

Yep. Coracle doesn't re-broadcast though, because hints and nip 65 are usually enough. It's not a bad idea though.
