🤔 I'm was going to bed but i fell into this rabbit hole... Now but I'm curious what kind of thoughts you all have on printed meat?
(I'll be reading any responses over tomorrow's morning coffee)

I don't like eating cake that has the inkjet picture on top of it. Let my protein live in the world
😂 my thoughts exactly... but I could see it being a good stopgap for times of shortage or in places with a high level of food insecurity. I have a feeling it will become much bigger than that though and some day true beef will be a luxury item.
idgaf about beef
i'll have my own herd of goats and a shotgun for anyone who wants to rustle them
goats > cows because mountains > plains in teotwawki
food insecurity is a problem from large scale specialised grain-based farming
better to quit being part of that shitshow and get out to the country and raise your own beasts and be unruggable
incredibly expensive is the main thing, it's a shitcoin just like solar and wind power, wouldn't stand on its own economics only if they redistribute your tax money to the producers
and the "official" version of nutritious means no fat so it's gonna taste like the worst lean veal you can imagine
and it won't have any of the natural vitamins and minerals of real meat
Expensive now, but it won't be. We already have a higher level of control over stem cells than we ever will over the sun or wind. Demand will increase quality & efficiency, in time, just like everything else. I doubt quality would be on par with true food, but for people who may have a hard time acquiring protein sources, any is better than none. I'm definitely an opt out type on the topic but globally, I think this could have a huge impact on quality of life for many over the next couple decades. Beyond that, my concern is being priced out of real meat. I could raise animals but I don't really want to 😂 there's a lot about modern living that I actually enjoy... not needing to deal with livestock being one of them.
really, the biggest question is WHY
second question is: what's so hard about livestock?
third question is: do you really trust the biotech companies who just ran a massive massive propaganda campaign that literally killed people, to get this right and not give you cancer or worse?
i'm gonna stick to my goat farm, until the world has shaken themselves out of this trance of progressive technologism cultism
there is nothing inefficient about animal husbandry for the high quality of the product, and our bodies evolved over 200,000 years ago to eat the flesh of natural animals and the reductionist, retarded, psychopathic biotech industry can kiss my arse.
also, if you don't want to deal with livestock, ... you know... there's a butcher, he can deal with the farmer who deals with the livestock
some of us love the animals
not just stupid save the animals cultism but actually enjoy their company and are fine with the fact that we have to kill them at some point, so we do it kindly
