Transactions on LN aren't public as for on-chain transactions, but a node can only see the ones it routes and the the one from/to itself

I was hoping to quote some impressive numbers of transactions to people who say LN failed. I've seen one other person a while back give some numbers, I wonder how he collated? Maybe BS.
We can never really know. That's the beauty of a decentralised system... no central place to find everything... and why should everyone's personal transactions be there for everyone to see?
The ledger isn't for making everyone's payments public and auditable, it is for making sure there is no inflation bug.
We don't validate double spends for you, we do it to ensure the 21M cap, we don't balance inputs outputs and fees to track payments, we do it to protect the 21M cap.
We do make the blocks immutable for you though. A system where the cap is always preserved but no one can guarantee a transfer of funds is forever is not very useful. 🤷
