I think in a decade or so this era will be known as the period where protocols replaced the major platforms.

šŸ’Æ.. can't wait to see The Protocol effect

It’s a sovereign revolution. We are seeking to gain more sovereignty in every aspect of our lives.

Still trying to figure out AI’s place in this transition. It’s as important as many of these protocols, but is more of an independent toolset. Going to be veeeerrrry interesting to see where it plays it’s biggest role.

So true. I lack knowledge in AI so I can’t even fathom what’s to come with that. Hasn’t been a rabbit hole I’ve wanted to go down yet. Probably cause my puny brain thinks it’s going to be over my head šŸ˜‚

Lately I’ve gone down the AI rabbit hole and I think more bitcoiners need to talk about it. Watching Mark Moss deny its impact on @nostr:npub14mcddvsjsflnhgw7vxykz0ndfqj0rq04v7cjq5nnc95ftld0pv3shcfrlx because of spiritual beliefs was about the most cringeworthy thing I’ve witnessed in a while.

This train of AI coming extremely fast.

I read recently it only took 25 percent unemployment in Germany to elect Hitler. When you factor in that most jobs are bullshit busy work anyway we bitcoin more than ever.

I’ve got another episode of Ai Unchained coming soon. It’s going to be more specifically about the top ways that I use Ai on a regular basis.

I’ll look out for it

What's hyperdrive? I searched it and found some Solana/Binance Smart Chain thing. Is this an imposter Guy Swann?

Haha, I think the more official name is Hypercore, Hyperdrive is a part of the stack. But no there are no shitcoins involved, lol. (Check out Holepunch.to for a toolset to build with it)

I think of it as the next major evolutionary step of BitTorrent. My bet is it will be the dominant P2P traffic protocol on the internet in a few years. I’m in the process of building an app on it that is going to be sick. Hopefully a closed alpha isn’t in the too distant future so some people can test it out.

This what Keet is built around?

Yes. They JUST launched the beta btw. They rebuilt the entire engine that it runs on. Way better now on mobile. Still some glitches to work out but it’s almost entirely surface level stuff at this point.

Waiting to see any code linked off their websites. I think they were going to release code eventually? Can't get excited if they keep it closed.

Could not agree more. Kinda like drug patents expiring.

Let's hope you are right.

On #nostr it's easy to be optimistic, the real fight will take place whe the strong skateholders in the realm of current public affairs start to understand what's happening...

At the point, I'm not so optimisticc

I think the real story of history, why systems of government change, why social consensus and morals change, why hierarchies of power evolve, is the story of *technology.* Politics is downstream of the technological environment/reality.

For that reason, I think — extending this far enough out into the future — that the political/regulatory response will largely be irrelevant. There is simply no stopping the steady forward walk of technological advancement, and the more foundational technologies will have 2nd, 3rd, and 4th order effects that are extremely hard to predict.

The crazy thing about the era we are in, is that it’s an era with explicit (rather than tangential) focus on the most foundational protocols of social & economic organization. Often the biggest changes occur indirectly and unknown to those who end up making foundational changes to human networks (ie. Gun powder had impossibly complex consequences on all human networks, but no one was thinking about how to alter political and social consensus incentives while inventing gunpowder, they just wanted to make their rock fly farther and hit harder). This time, we *are* thinking directly about designing and engineering economic and social incentive structures. Which is kind of insane when you think about it. It likely won’t be very fast, but even subtle changes make enormous differences at a generational scale.

In other words: During our lifetime, yes I agree. But take it another 2 generations forward and I don’t think it matters nearly as much.

Comes in stages and probably takes longer than we want, but decentralized protocols are the genesis moment

Agree.

Not familiar with hyperdrive, and searching got me a lot of other things that I'm guessing you're not talking about...?

Holepunch.to

Protocol is actually called Hypercore, hyperdrive is one of its main modular parts of the stack.

This is what I’ve been thinking
