Anyone good money savings tips for traveling to Japan?🇯🇵
Discussion
Planning on a couple cities or want to see the whole country? How long you going for?
Turning 30 next year and we’re thinking on going to Japan, Brazil or El Salvador for around 2 weeks
Japan I would say Tokio and Kyoto. What else would you recommend? And what about prices?
You must stop on Osaka as well. Food capital of Japan, lot of street food and fun night market in Dotunburi.
You could spend months in Tokyo and not see all of it, so yes, absolutely go there, and stay in different parts of town for a night or two each. Akihabara, harijuku, asakusa, ikebukoro, man - it’s endless!
As for Kyoto and Osaka, they are about 40 minutes from one another by train, and if you only plan on visiting these main cities, then it doesn’t pay to get an unlimited train pass. However, if you want to see Sapporo and Hokkaido, and you wanna shoot down to Nagano and Fukuwaka (northernmost and southernmost destinations) the unlimited weekly train pass makes sense financially…
Just understand that one trip to Japan will never be enough. You will need to return in the future, but exchange rates should still be favorable now, it’ll be more expensive later.
Add JackRoad in Nakano to the must-visit destinations in Tokyo for you.
This is Non-negotiable for a watch lover.
Got myself a travel watch case there.
Wow thank you so much brother! This helps me so much!!!
I think I’m getting very warm to visit Tokio, Osaka and Kyoto! Will look for flights when it’s available (I’m turning 30 next year October so there is some time left haha)
What about the food brother? It looks so insane there but is it expensive?
If you’re looking for expensive food, it’s there and it’s wonderful.
However, the beauty of Japan is the convenience store culture, if you’re a little hungry, you can get one dollar of food, if you’re really hungry, you can get six dollars of food or $10 of food. it’s not like America where you have to get a value meal for $20 and then sit there and continue eating the french fries for an hour
You’ll find delicious things everywhere you look, people lineup for the good stuff in every part of town .
Feel free to bounce ideas off of me about Japan. I’ve been on a mission the past decade traveling back-and-forth to repopulate that country, so I know it pretty well 🤣
Thank you brother!! I’m gonna look into it!
Japan just looks amazing! Ever been to Yamanashi? Looks crazy to visit for one day before heading to Kyoto and Osaka
