Gm nostr,

Hot take, I don't think we're doing the world any favors by making things easier or more comfortable. I live in a bubble of people too soft and helpless to tie their own shoes, so I see where the pursuit of convenience leads.

I don't know if bitcoin or nostr will ever reach those people, and I don't think it's meant to. The ideals of sovereignty/autonomy don't help the world by becoming soft and molding around soft people, but by being inflexible and forcing people to change or die. If we fear that they will never save themselves and change our approach to make sure "everyone makes it" then freedom has already lost.

GM! These are great points that I think about often. Like am I doing any favors for my future children by giving them my stack that I struggled for? The same idea applies to learning bitcoin and freedom. They need to do the proof of work themselves. That’s why I don’t think you can really orange pill anyone.

Yeah I'm a very soft orange piller 🤣, even with my own family. I know what I would want for them, but I don't know if they want that for themselves. Everyone thinks they want wealth but it comes with a lot of responsibility and not many want that.

Interesting way to look at it. I didn’t think about the responsibility that comes with it because I just assumed it’s easy enough for anyone to learn. But they still have to learn it and that is ultimately their decision.
