I thought of this too. It would be great. I'm working on a Plebeian.market long-firm article now.

Is there an escrow system or how do those markets work?

I haven't actually used it for a transaction yet. I'll get back to you.

No I don’t believe escrow is integrated.

I think it can be brought in eventually but this is another level of complexity that would require coordinating with some sort of third party to the transaction…

We’re focused on making basic checkout smooth first for various merchant set ups.

We personally (@ConduitBTC) don’t see an immediate use for escrow in Customer-to-Merchant Lightning-resolved product sales; I could definitely see some use cases, but we’re not attacking ā€˜em just yet.

What use cases do you see escrow being used for?

No escrow in the new NIP. Escrow is an entirely separate business avenue by itself, and really can't be handled without a trusted third-party as it needs dispute resolution with active information review.

The most interesting concept I've seen for handling it over Nostr (at least the dispute resolution) is being used with Mostro:

https://github.com/grunch/mostro-mediator

It allows those involved in a trade to selectively reveal information to a trusted third-party for review.

The actual mechanism of holding funds isn't too hard to do (just needs HODL invoices or P2PK-locked Cashu token); it's the third-party review that makes things complex.

This is from the FAQ. I don't think they have escrow, but I think our web of trust is useful in the meantime.

Thanks man!
