It's very contentious right now but I think it's a good thing this is happening. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here, but I'm not view: love or hate Core, it's had a de facto monopoly on providing node software. Monopolies always tend to act in their own interest at some point if it's diverges from their customers. Competition forces them to be honest and maintain their appeal to the customers. We should have more alternatives to both Core and Knots, ideally.

But yeah, all the discourse right now sucks and most of it isn't worth engaging in.

I want to be a voice for what I feel is important. And name calling is lame. Still learning how to navigate this place in a healthy way.

I hear you. I was orange pilled in '22 and things weren't nearly as contentious then. This signs a lot like how things shook down in the "block size wars" though. Gives me a lot of new perspective in the dynamics of the Bitcoin maintainer/dev community.

Name calling usually comes from people who are unwilling or unable to defend their position in a debate, which makes them irrelevant. Screaming into the void. We are all learning. Most on Nostr humbly share their knowledge, and it is always appreciated. I discovered ₿itcoin in 2017 quite by accident. It is a rabbit hole that doesn't seem to have an end. I'm constantly reminded that I have a lot to learn and talking shit to people that are attempting to share their thoughts and ideas (good and bad) isn't the best way to achieve my goal. Respect bro.
