Only bitcoin and monero are not scams. However, I am not convinced that Monero delivers what it promises efficiently, and there are some red flags.

If a person does not use good practices, even using monero, they can be exposed, there is no point in having a tool and not knowing how to use it.

Monero is anonymous by default, you don't need to make any additional setup for that
