Trezor Safe 3 is out!

It's like the Trezor One, it costs €10 more (€79 vs €69). Changes compared to One I noticed:

- it has a secure element (not even the Trezor T has one)

- it can do Shamir backup (for me a killer feature, why I primarily used Trezor T and not Trezor One)

- it has USB-C (yes!)

What about proper support for multi-sign?

What do you think about closed source secure element? Isn't it better to wait until SE comes out from tropic square?

if you care about that, use multisig. you can't trust anyone.

Funnily enough, the secure element firmware is actually open source.

And the way they use it, it does not matter. Just hacking the secure element is not enough for anything, it only contains the encryption key for the seed. It's a weird way of doing things, but you need to trust it much less.

Grrr, should wait with my TrezorOne order few months...

It has always supported multisig, so does this version.

Supported yes but we cannot check that we are signing the right multisign xpub and the correct destination address from the Trezor. So you have to blindly sign with the risk of signing the wrong transaction and losing funds.

#Specter #BitBox02 and #Coldcard do this correctly, #Trezor One and #Ledger Nano S not as I understood.

Thank you, I did not know that..will have a look.

So you upload a multisig schema to the wallet and then it can recognize change addresses and such?

I bought the TRZOR T like 3 weeks ago, just for shamir… 🫣
