I once told a former colleague that we were encouraging modesty at our church's youth meetings, and she flew off the hook.

"Don't make the girls the victims of male aggression."

I told her we were trying to shift their mindset away from self-sexualization to more proper forms of feminine beauty.

She lost it when I said that and wouldn't speak to me for weeks.

Wow!! She had no concept of reality. I'd keep far away from her. 😬

Most clothing nowadays, and the style people are going after is, to look sexy. Kids shouldn't look sexy. There's no reason to look like that when you're going to the mall. That's supposed to be between a husband and wife only, in my opinion.

Going for elegant, pretty, cute, or beautiful are way better to aim at.

so right. just wear something that shows you respect yourself rather than turning yourself into an idol. as we know, that kind of beauty doesn’t last for very long, and then what are you left with?

She should have been thinking, "Thank you for imbuing norms of non female objectification." Ironic that her position supported the de-humanization of women.
