"The ban applies specifically to hosted or custodial crypto wallets offered by third-party service providers, such as centralized exchanges."

"The new legislation is expected to be fully operational within three years from its entry into force. However, Dillon Eustace, an Ireland-based law firm, expects the legislation to become fully operational earlier."

Its non news imo as is its meaningless traders don't care about using bitcoin.

And those using bitcoin to buy stuff use non custodial.

Should this change it will turn into making it illegal all togheter majority of those bitcoiners wont give a shit what the eu says

Would Hosted also mean on a lightning node hosted by a hosting provider Like #lunanode for example? Bit baffled by that

Not sure, didn't read the full legislation.

It will prob take a while before they crack down.

Thanks, I’m going to take a good look at that. Hosted crypto to my limited understanding would include the lightning network, custodial or not. Those that don’t know how or can’t run their own node could have sats frozen or nabbed by the authorities via the hosting provider? Maybe 🤔 I don’t know enough yet.
