Instead of McDonald's, (which probably already holds BTC in their portfolio), you might find it better in the long run to flip a local business to accepting BTC.

The local business owner will increase their stability, and might draw in more customers. Not to mention that they're not trying to poison you like McDonald's is. Overall, this will help your local economy and your neighbors.

Bitcoin has a very stinky stigma here in germany unfortunately. Plus, most of the good burger shops here are ran by people who barely speak german in the first place. So trying to explain Bitcoin to them in this circumstance is ... difficult. o.o; That is why I need to find something like a "side channel" - i.e.: have something like a credit card that pulls from a bitcoin reserve to do the payment in fiat.

And, why McDonnalds? Its a low price and I pass by one every day I ride a train x) I am not a fan of their food (if you can really call it that) myself, but it's something to munch on while you wait at the platform or count stations o.o

Thanks for your input though! ^^ If I do spot an opportunity, I might just take it. But, knowing the people here, I'll have to play the waiting game... Good thing I am incredibly patient. :)

Maybe the best move for now is just to gently educate those around you. Wait until they bring up the subject of money, or economy. Almost any complaint they have about the money they are using now can be solved by Bitcoin.

Give them one benefit of Bitcoin, not a waterfall of facts. Choose one that solves their complaint. After that, see if they ask about it more.

If they reply with, "I don't want my money in something that can disappear when the Internet/electricity is shut off.", then drop the subject of Bitcoin until later. When they reply with something like that, I like to ask them what their plan is if the Internet (or electricity) disappears, and listen for good advice. I might later bring up that fiat doesn't work so well in that situation either.

Sooner or later you will find people that resonate with the benefits. Be their guide!
