I’m not into Sam Altman in more ways than I can easily communicate. The idea of having all the information ever is fun but the reality is just some cunt getting insanely rich mining peoples brain waves. Facebook clamped to your face for all eternity.

I’m into the idea of life swaps. I think the world would be better if every so often Altman or Thiel or Zuckerberg, any of these surveillance bastards swapped lives with an average office worker or tradesperson so they could go back and rethink their techno utopias.

Of course that won’t happen so I’ll just have to make do with calling Altman a cunt on Nostr.

Altman is a prepper. He has a doomsday bunker. Thiel is similar. Zuck is the only one of the 3 who is a true believer in the utopia.

But Zuck’s still building an island bunker…

Wow. Even he doesn't believe in the power of tech.

He believes in the power of having absolutely shit loads of cash.

Well, it helps if you wanna make something like the Metaverse. You may laugh, but real VR would be so cool. $10B wasn't enough, so that's been shelved.

How would you spend $10B?

You wouldn’t build a bunker? I dream of bunkers 😂

Jawohl, mein Führer!

Bunkers are awesome 🤩

Everyone's a Bond villain these days.

Would be an amazing man cave if for nothing else.

I'm currently very happy with my shed but very aware it's not nuke proof.

That said, I honestly wouldn't want to survive a nuclear war. That existence is grim!

This is the real danger of AI. It’ll never be smart enough on its own to be a true danger, but the surveillance state this could create is 1984 on super potent steroids.

Beyond that, I just don’t even see the allure. Who tf wants some agent in their fucking ear all day? Why are we so hell bent on eliminating every bit of human experience?

Exactly. I very much enjoy the process of making music. Getting note combinations wrong, trying different rhythms, tinkering until I get to something I like.

‘With AI you can do all that with just a couple of prompts, think of all the other things you could do with you time”.

But I like using my time to make music. It doesn’t need to be good (it often isn’t) but it’s the process, being lost in a flow state. Time is the only valuable thing I have.

There are LLM/ML tools I find useful but ChatGPT still isn’t useful to me. Maybe I’m doing it wrong? Maybe I’m not. I have one life.

I find the people touting the “time savings” are ones that pursue productivity for productivity sake. “Chatgpt can answer my emails!” But if that’s the case, maybe the email never needed to be answered in the first place.

Indeed. I want less time dealing with shopping and other household stuff, all the robot stuff they promised in the 1950s!

Supposedly that’s coming too but I have serious doubts it’ll ever be feasible. It also most certainly be used to surveil you.

Fuckers!
