they're are so many fun speciality restaurants in Taiwan. This particular spot is in Banqiao 板橋 in the New Taipei area

Ordering sets is pretty common place in Taiwan. If you want to be fancy, you could call it tasting menus. It makes the menus much smaller so they can really focus on quality and make it easy to decide on what to eat.

Before this showpiece of a main dish came to the table, I had a cold appetizer, a soup and a small sashimi selection. After this, I had a little rice, dessert (matcha parfait!) and a pineapple-bitter melon drink.
