Is there a video platform like YouTube that supports a Zap-style tipping system like ZapStream?

I've been following this channel on YouTube for years—their content is consistently amazing and often quite accurate. I don’t even have a YouTube account to subscribe; I just keep their channel bookmarked and check in regularly.

Over the years, I’ve watched them grow. They even experimented with subscription-only videos as a way to monetize.

I use an ad blocker, which I know doesn’t help them financially, but I really dislike ads. Still, they manage to put out new videos almost every day. Can you imagine the research and effort that goes into that? It's clearly a huge amount of work.

The problem is, there’s currently no real way for me to support them—YouTube doesn’t have a Bitcoin-based tipping or zapping system.

And what's sad is that this isn't the only channel I've been consistently watching for years.

Since discovering Bitcoin and the Zap tipping model, I've come to really appreciate how much effort creators put into their work. Unfortunately, I still can’t support this channel in the way I'd like to.

The good thing is it's only a matter of time before a YouTube competitor website adds the zap tipping system.

Video creators will finally be rewarded for their hard work.

Flare and Zapstream both support nostr video content.

hmm I had no clue zap stream had video uploading. I thought it was strictly a gaming/irl streaming website.

I went to looked around and found the section.

This is good news thanks.

zap stream is the future!

Nice right? See the real beauty is, it doesn't matter if you upload content via zapstream, flare or any other app. It just a nostr event and it will display on any site or app that supports the event. So if you upload a video to flare it will also display on zapstream and vice versa.

nostr is much more powerful than meets the eye.

I'm still understanding Nostr but yes that's right, much more powerful than meets the eye.

I think the video section in zap stream so far looks promising but definitely need improvement in order to attract people. It's kinda hidden and lacks features but it's a new website so it's understandable.

Personally I think a dedicated website for videos only might be better and keep ZapStream as a decided streaming website. I think mixing both isn't a good idea untill the website is much bigger. Mixing things seems to be a corporate thing.

The other site looks promising too because it's seems to be just videos and not gaming/streaming.

Unfortunately it's doesn't seem to work. If flare . pub is the correct site. I dunno.
