self custody is a great reason. really nice UI - as good and user friendly as wallet of satoshi. the team at ACINQ makes app do the heavy lifting channel management under the hood which makes it easy for beginners.

It’s a great way to learn about lightning before running your own dedicated always on node. Phoenix is an actual lightning node on you phone. You learn about opening channels in really easy and frictionless way. It shows you a lot of the stuff other lightning wallet clients do on the back end
