If you already have a Lightning wallet, minting ecash sats on Keychat Wallet is really easy.👇

Many a silly question but how to change your avatar?
The current avatar is derived from the public key, so there’s no need to upload anything to a server. We’re considering adding support for custom avatars—allowing users to upload their own to a server or relay—but we have some reservations and are still exploring better alternatives.
I appear to be a female punk with purple hair so hoping this happens.
Another question, if I have a chat with someone that is NIP-17 and I want to move to Signal, what do I do? In security settings there's an option to reset Signal session, is that a bug (there's nothing to reset, it's not Signal) or will that convert it to a Signal chat? Or do I start a new chat with the same person, and can I even have 2 chats at once, one signal and one NIP-17? Thanks.

If your chat partner is also using Keychat, you can click “Reset Signal Session.” Once they reply, the conversation will switch to the Signal encryption scheme.
For someone like me, who have not tried to understand this yet. It just look like you pay from one lightning wallet to another.
Why does it say payment if you call it minting?
It would have been more obvious to be what was happening if it was clear that you minted something different than bitcoin. Like if you bought some E-cash or something.
I know I'm probably stupid for saying this. But I feel like that the fact I'm here on Nostr, commenting on this. But it's still not obvious to me. Seems like a problem.
What I'm saying is.
It's not clear to me, at all. What I am watching in this video.
But I would like it to be.
You're absolutely right. In the earliest version of Keychat, we had four separate buttons: Send, Receive, Mint (to convert LN sats into ecash sats), and Melt (to convert ecash sats back into LN sats).
In the newer version, we streamlined the experience by moving “Mint” under the Receive flow and “Melt” under the Send flow. This shift was intentional — we wanted to de-emphasize the idea of "minting" and present it more as a purchase: you're using LN sats to buy ecash sats.
That said, when I wrote that previous note, I slipped back into the old way of thinking — referring to it as “minting” again. I realize now that could be confusing.
