I have typically preferred Cashapp and Strike for bitcoin purchases from 0-5000 USD.

I appreciated being able to do an immediate w/d to self custody.

However, I recently purchased 0.03 bitcoin on Strike and I am unable to w/d until 9/5/2024.

Why the change? What did I miss?

Idk but it seems somewhat random to me. If you look closely when making a purchase or deposit from a bank account they do mention that it will be available for withdrawal in 5 days or something but still I can almost always withdraw instantly.

It’s probably some kind of a risk management thing that triggered because it’s a larger amount?

risk management, and they wait for it to be settled

depending on the amount and the banks involved, settlement can be near instant, or take longer

and strike may allow you to withdraw before settlement completes for low amounts

Tranfer the money into strike first with your debit card. Dont click buy and let strike pull it from your bank. If stike pulls money from your bank you gonna have to wait for it to clear
