The secret to developing a protocol that wins is to wear a laundry pin on your nose.
Discussion
I have this problem.
In case anyone things I'm saying "nostr stinks"... no.
Because we are all such creative and opinionated people, we all have different ideas of how to do it. All nostr developrs have at least one (usually more) disagreements with the consensus. But if we all ran and did it our own way, nothing would be compatible. Compatibility is what makes the protocol win, so from time to time you have to plug your nose and do what you think stinks.
I would rather use a protocol that nobody else uses than use a platform that goes against my vision and principles. That's what brought me to Nostr in the first place. I am fully aware that pushing my own vision before others sacrifices compatibility and consensus. But I am fully willing to make that trade, even if it causes problems for others.
is the gossip getting stinky? ;)
