I'm not American, but isn't there parody laws that cover the exact thing that Bitcoin Magazine was doing? I remember a hilarious episode of Nathan For You in which he opened a coffee shop called Dumb Starbucks and was in the clear to use a modified version of the Starbucks logo under parody law.
