Just thinking out loud about the Nostr marketplace idea... rather than have any kind of "submission" process, Nostrgram could just scan the relays for notes that have a certain hashtag (e.g. #marketplace) and that include any required information. Those notes would show up in a special feed that can be searched and filtered.

I really think that could work well, plus it prevents it from being client-specific. Any client could filter and search for notes with the same hashtag and organize the marketplace in their own way.

Marketplace is such a big idea. But I think we are already there. Everything is going going unbelievably fast here.

Do you determined what are the possible required information should be? Location information might be important and one that should be carefully handled I believe 🤔

Please do it, great idea! And when channels where you can subscribe to only a subset of your followers e.g all bitcoin plebs and so on?

Tell me more... I'm interested in this idea!

Please !!!

Maybe we can start from content consumption first, a market place for sats micro-paywall content and virtual goods.

Or we use/add a Event Kind for that? https://www.e2encrypted.com/nostr/nips/#event-kinds

I thought about creating this so artists/translators etc could be contracted through a marketplace on nostr but decided against it because it will shit up the place with offers, many of which will be scams or garbage.

There needs to be a specific note kind for buying and selling stuff that isn’t included in regular notes feeds. Same with git notes, people don’t need big blocks of code interspersed with memes and Craigslist scams, it quickly becomes unwieldy.

I’m all for a marketplace on the nostr protocol, would love it if offer notes could be dropped in to my feed, but need some sort of separation

Yeah I agree, a NIP is in order for a Kind that's use for commerce.
