Tuve bastantes problemas durante la sincronización inicial de bloques (IBD). Todo iba bien hasta el 70%, donde la velocidad cayó en picado.

Solución: migré los datos desde mi nodo personal con rsync sobre SSH (usando certificado) y ajusté los permisos. En menos de 12 horas ya estaba completamente sincronizado ⚡

Ok so when I hear the core people say that the filter doesn't work I think their steelman argument is that because the filters can't provide 100% filtering. Miners will eventually mine some of the spam into a block which will have to be downloaded... Is that right?

When filtering reaches sufficient density, spam cannot easily propagate through the mesh. Each node limits its edge connections, so once filters hit critical mass, spam traffic becomes effectively unusable. At that point, spammers must pay a premium to mining pools for inclusion. Mining pools that accept spam will see their reputation degrade, causing them to lose hashpower. This is market discipline in action. “No shoes, no shirt, no service” is not censorship, it is the minimal standard of decorum required to participate in the market.

I understand the point you are making and I will of course continue to run Knots. I’m just pointing out that when Core v30 says “You must relay spam now!” that’s exactly what will happen. There are technically proficient people on both sides of Knots/Core. I haven’t heard a good argument for raising the limit. I’m all ears though.

filters allow node runners to have an ongoing discussion and voice in the never ending political debate of what they consider spam and what not. It is not censorship, because it wont prevent anything to get into the chain with 100% certainty, but it probabilistically reduces the amount of certain types of transactions showing up on chain.

It also prevents you as the node runner from having e.g. CSAM in your node and prevents you as the miner from committing CSAM to the blockchain.

There are data storage systems, even decebtralized ones for people to store data.

In Bitcoin, every node runner stores data for free forever, so at least node runners should have their voice to express their opinion what should get into that forever storage.

For Ukraine to come out of this war OK, it needs to take some kind of action or actions that cause Russia to stop attacking it and stop capturing it's land.

Maybe that action is a negotiated agreement.

Maybe that action is some kind of well designed military strikes.

But whatever actions are taken, they must not cause Russia to feel that it is under an existential threat. Attacks that disable Russia's ability to defend itself against other worldwide nuclear powers, like against its first-strike radar (as was done), or its nuclear bombers (as was done), may cause Russia to take the severe action of disabling Ukraine for good.

Attacking Ukraine with nuclear weapons probably would not cause NATO powers to strike Russia with nuclear weapons, because that would be well known as the MAD ending. Russia doesn't want to hit Ukraine with nukes. But it becomes their best strategic choice as soon as Ukraine effectively disables their ability to retaliate against a nuclear attack. Was this attack on the bombers such a thing? Probably not. But it's definitely encroaching on that territory.

If Russia nuked Ukraine in retaliation for the attack on their bombers, I'm not sure there is any way Ukraine or NATO could effectively respond. And that makes it strategically viable for Russia to do it, whereas yesterday it wasn't. And that is why I mentioned earlier that Ukraine making it's last moves was strategically "questionable".
