“Firefox & Thunderbird Collect User Data by Default (in Violation of European Law”

This is something we have known for a long time, hence the need to use telemetry-free browsers such as LibreWolf, Mulvad or Tor Browser.

How about Brave? Good or bad?

Telemetry has also been found in chromium and brave, although in both cases it was rectified, I can't tell you how the situation is currently in chromium based browsers.

Got it. Thanks for the reply !

Any suggestion for a mail client?

Kmail (kde) or evolution (gnome)

That's good to know, I will try that thank you 🤝

This can be turned off in the settings though, right? Not saying it should be there, just saying you can opt out, I think.

It can be deactivated unless they have included something new but it is more convenient to use for example Librewolf which is already telemetry free.

Thanks, it looks like Librewolf is a solid replacement. Finding and turning off all the telemetry in Firefox is a pain, so I'm glad there's a better option. I was aware of Brave but it always seemed a little sketchy to me.

Brave seems sketchy to me. With all the ads being served on the home screen.

I shoukd stop using firefox. Just been my default for years.

Catch 22. More niche you go the more precise the finger printing.
