A good video summarizing Brave New World. I want to say it’s been about 10 years since I read it. It would be a great one to reread.
Aldous Huxley and Brave New World: The Dark Side of Pleasure
"If the current trends continue, humanity may soon be divided into two groups. There will be those who welcome their pleasurable servitude, and those who choose to resist it for the sake of retaining not just their liberty, but their humanity." #writing #postscarcity

All this time and I think his dystopic scenario for humanity is still the most likely one.
I agree. I was looking through my Joseph Campbell books (cannot find the quote) — but there is this story I always liked about him waiting for his wife (she was a dancer & studied with Martha Graham). Joe was impatient because she was late. & then he remembered about living in the present moment & I think he credits Huxley. And of course— everything he learned from Buddhism.
People have difficulty with emotions. Joe lived with complexity. Huxley’s story shows how people escape.
