In case you missed it...

#Alby is set to sunset their free Alby Lightning wallet by Jan 3. Your options at that point will be to self host Alby Hub or pay 21k sats/month for Alby Cloud (currently 50% off the first 3 months). This is big news. Be prepared for the change.

Back to Blixt i go, hope zaps work for my lightning box again

Just use Zeus

I have that too, but i like Blixt more

Interesting, why is that?

Personal preference

Does the dunder lsp take a cut of inbound zaps too?

Not sure, havent used bkixt to get zapa for the laat month or 2. Just switched back to it. Zap me 10 sats and lets see what the vig is. Ill send it back right after

🫡

0 fees on my end

1 sat fee on my end on the return

And now we know. Appreciate the sats even if it only for a minute

Thank you for the insight!

I will say with blixt zaps dont show in my notifications so i just post notes and when i open my lightning wallet it is sometimes larger than it was before

That's unfortunate

Good look. Seems like I’ll be making some changes.

😳

Self hosting Alby hub is the way to go. If you can copy paste and docker-compose up -d you can self host a lightning node

Yes, thanks. I am aware of how to self host a lightning node. How has your experience been with it? Any issues?

No it was actually much easier than I thought it would be. There is some NWC black magic that links your node to your alby account. No DNS, port forwarding, reverse proxy or anything. Just start the container, open the web front-end, give it the email associated with your alby account and everything works.

If you have a big enough balance in your alby wallet it even opens a channel for you (at a discount I think). I spent 20k to open the channel but have 100k of available liquidity

Awesome. Thanks!

oof i did miss this - good looking out. thankful to be self-hosting
