GM,folks! 💜 My computer can’t hold charge anymore. Should I go for a refurbished MacBook or get a new one with monthly payments?

Go refurbished or a year or two old. Even the M1 models will feel lightning fast if your old one was Intel.

Yeah but the base model only has 8gb ram. IDC what Apple says, it's not enough.

I would say just replace the battery like on a normal laptop, but they glue them into MacBooks, so you have to scrape and pry to remove them, and you're likely to puncture the battery and burn your house down...

I saw this article today. Decent option but probably can find a M1 macbook air used for a much better deal. Its probably more than enough and good upgrade from your previous intel mac

I retired my 2017 MacBook Pro for the same reason. I picked up an M2 MacBook Air last November, and I’m extremely happy with it.
