So, #noderunners, it finally happened. I have to redo my node and lightning setup. I guess the drive or app was corrupted. Might have fucked around installing and uninstalling too many apps lol. Oh well, got my keys and channel backups. I have to resync the chain though and that is like a week I think. BBS :Heart:

If you're able to access your hard drive you may be able to copy over the Bitcoin blocks and save you the time of syncing it up
Zero Knowledge Proofs sounds interesting. Theoretically you could download around a 2gb file, and be up and running in no time.
Then you could use a separate instance of Bitcoin to download the blockchain. Then just switch over when it's complete.
Of course, there would be the issue of TRUST until you downloaded the full blockchain..🧡😊

Perhaps consider hosting your bitcoin node on a VM with the Bitcoin chain on a external drive shared by your Host. This would make everything very portable and easy to recover provided you backup routinely.
Maybe document your recovery process share the recovery steps you performed.
