WTF HAPPENED IN 1971

The fascinating thing to me is how much of an impact this illusionary fiat dollar has on every aspect of our lives.

The food we eat.

How healthy we are.

How happy we are.

How long marriages last.

Crime rates.

Most people can FEEL something right now. They know something is wrong and they’re blaming it on a variety of things.

The part they’re missing is that it all stems from having a currency that’s backed by nothing.

I've been doing some time series work lately and there are always these structural breaks in the early 70's. My colleagues can never think of a reason why there would be structural breaks in damn near every time series in the early 70's. One got close with their "inflation" guess.
