It is in iceland, so it’s probably harder to grow trees there?

Trees hit a hard stop around 60°N for geopathic reasons. Iceland spreads from about 45-67°N

There are more reasons for trees not growing in Iceland than just the latitude.

For example, the soil isn't so deep enough there so the roots can't keep the trees standing when the strong winds the island is also known for blow.

Agreed. Not claiming only latitude
