What about an opt-in to a community mute list? So a user can choose to opt into a list curated by community reaction to the post. If people flagged the post as porn, then whoever opts into the list would have that content/post filtered out just as if it were if they had blocked it.

the control of community should be in the hands of the mods not users. that wouldn't make it reddit, which exercises censorship not by modding communities but by closing them altogether. basically all right-wing communities were closed by reddit.

the idea is to have tight moderation within a community BUT you can start your own community on any subject. for example you can start "I Love Hilter" community and then within that community as a mod you can ban anybody who doesn't love Hitler.

or you can start "Children are Sex Machines" community, and again, ban all anti-pedophiles from your community.

otherwise you will get censorship by the mob. get it ?

of course if the content of the community is illegal then government can go after the operator of the relay. but it would have to actually be illegal. loving Hitler is not illegal, yet you can bet your ass you couldn't have an "I Love Hitler" reddit. if they closed the Trump reddit they certainly would not allow a Hitler one.

my point is moderation is different from censorship, because there would not be any platform-wide ideology, like there is on Reddit, Twitter and everywhere else ( except Fediverse ).

and the problem with Fediverse is a user is tied to an instance and if the instance is blocked everybody on it is blocked. on other hand with NOSTR you would not be tied to any community in any way, so it would not be like Fedi and it would not be like Reddit.
