I think it all depends on your wife's attitude and support. If you both have common ground then rest of the world can go fuck themselves.

I agree with the rest of the world can go fuck themselves, and that is the problem collectivism vs individualism.
I have asperger syndrome. I am smarter than majority of people around me and I have photographic memory. On top of that I am interested in various complex topics, multiple at once. All that combined usually make people around me feel awkward.
We are all different (some of us more than others) but a group is strongest when the puzzle is completed. Supply and demand says there is always room for the unique individual, unless it is a weak group.
