I think people often underestimate Isaac's participation in the sacrifice. Isaac was a teen or young man at the time, most likely, for he carried the wood of the sacrifice himself. Abraham could not have overpowered his son and forcibly sacrificed him, Isaac had to go willingly.
Thus, Isaac is a type of Christ. Even the mountain is understood to be the same spot on which Jesus was later crucified.
I know you were making a joke, but I have to nerd out because this episode in Genesis is amazing. There's a reason Isaac doesn't get that much attention after that episode; his place in the lineage of the chosen people is the willing, faithful son who gave himself entirely over to God in faith.
