Find local #bitcoin accepting merchant via the CashApp app.

1. click on the "Money" bank icon

2. click on "Bitcoin"

3. scroll down to "Ways to use bitcoin"

4. click on "Spend bitcoin"

5. allow location access (☹️ otherwise app crashes)

6. find your local bitcoin accepting merchants!

I live in a pretty large city and the number of places listed is disappointing. I know it’s early but what can I do besides frequent the places I can?

If you find places that already have Square terminals just ask them to turn on the bitcoin features. They still can get the same $$ USD in their account and they pay zero fees on the BTC transactions for the next year.

btcmap.org is awesome! I am not sure how up to date their square bitcoin merchant map will be though. I am guessing the map on CashApp is created directly from data on merchants turning on the accept bitcoin toggle in square.

I think some merchants may turn on the accept bitcoin option and not know about btcmap.org. I want to shop with them ( and maybe list them on btcmap.org while I am at it).

Hmm, I’m not seeing the “spend bitcoin”. Maybe state dependent?

I heard that not everyone got the update, maybe need to wait or force update somehow
