Same. I’ve kept an *extremely* close eye on this project and honestly think this will all get open sourced. After getting to know the guys I can’t imagine there is any sort of ill intent going on here. Macintosh has dedicated more than a decade of his life to seeing this protocol vision to its conclusion. And this is basically the culmination of all of that work. And the *only* reason he designed it the way it is, is to completely remove the client/server relationship.

To add to it, the entire protocol stack IS open source. So if they keep Keet specifically closed for any reason, someone else can just build one that’s compatible with the room/connection type and pick up where they left off. They even said themselves that because it’s a protocol, anyone could build a compatible client and use it with the same groups and keys similar to how you have different Nostr clients all with the same network.

So from a couple of different directions it just doesn’t make sense on their part. I’d be really surprised if they didn’t keep their promise.
