Its got a lot of features. It's like an everything security device.

most excited by the extensibility of it 😀

Yeah, the ability to develop apps for various functions means the sky's the sky's the limit. I really like the security key feature that allows the Prime to be used as Yubikeys. It means no more buying and managing several YubiKeys.

What happened to the Turnkey Bitkey distro? All is see are ads for this hexagon thingy called a bitkey... What's up with that? Are they buying out open source projects now?

I haven't heard of the Turnkey BitKey. The only BitKey I'm aware of is the hexagonal thing.

Bitkey was the OG self-custody linux distro that i was aware of... Turnkey Linux has all kinds of neat VM appliances... I think that's what they're called, but the Bitkey ISO was not on the server last time i tried to download it... Proxmox VE is my next "to learn" item on the list... Just finished my HP elitedesk 800 G3 mod...

Sounds unrelated to the BitKey hardware wallet.

I dunno, maybe they're going after the name...

I think it's more likely the name BitKey wasn't trademarked. Because it is a registered trademark of the hardware wallet company.

The old swoop in with trademark filings and take over any name... So much for prior art USPTO...

To be fair, we don't know that's what happened in this case.

OG bitkey.io BitKey is a bootable system image based on Debian containing everything you need to perform highly secure air-gapped Bitcoin transactions.

2024 Jack Dorsey hardware signer:

bitkey.build - It’s a mobile app, hardware device, and a set of recovery tools, for simple, secure self-custody.

Thank you!
