I have managed to persuade most of my friends to buy bitcoin, but only one of them became a maxi.

The rest still see bitcoin as some form of investment.

It's frustrating. Almost nobody understands bitcoin and almost everyone thinks it's risky (they still "diversify" into other things).

Hyperbitcoinization isn't happening anytime soon. I predict it will happen around the year 2045.

What are your thoughts?

If they see it as an investment I’d still consider that a win. It’s better than nothing to be honest.

That’s a good first step. The rest will come after.

I agree

I think diversification is key too. It’s better to have a million people invest 5-10% of their lives wealth in Bitcoin than 10 maximalists IMHO.

And then over time they might invest more, use it more for transactions, etc.

Do these specific types of people's view today really have much of significant tip on scale for the future?

I don’t think we need everyone to be a maxi to see hyperbitcoinization.

In the meantime, keep educating them and sharing resources.

Slowly then suddenly. I think bitcoin will trudge on slowly for a while, but once it enters the almost vertical section of the adoption S curve things will happen quickly. I would chop 10 years off your guess and suggest by 2035 or even earlier - depending on geopolitical/economic conditions around the world.

I have a feeling hyperbitcoinization happens even sooner than 2035. I just think Africa and South/Central America will take to it quicker than people expect once their current teenage populations hit their twenties. This will force the rest of the world to jump on board.

Thoughts:

Hyperbitcoinization in 2045 would be awesome. Africa will play a key role. The appetite for btc is coming from the people in contrast to the gov initiative in El Salvador.

The state of the global economy is setting the stage for Bitcoin to act as a savior but its no guarantee. It will be a hard battle.

Your friends who see it as an investment do so out of a comfortable lifestyle. They don’t need bitcoin. Life is fine without. Bittersweet, but more and more people will see it as a necessity.

Thank you sir!

This! 💯 until there's a need

Great ‘micro’ op-ed. Imo, bitcoin is a non-linear system with lots of feedback loops that could easily see mass adoption happen by 2035, or even 2030. One feedback variable would be the hype factor. The more people see the growing adoption, the more people will adopt it, and so on.

Largely depends on how central banks behave imo, and L2 payment adoption
