Yes, MacOS is closed source. That doesn't necessarily mean that anything you do on top it doesn't change anything.

Well I didn't say it doesn't change anything. Every bit helps. That's what I mean when I say privacy is a spectrum. Propitiatory OS is where I draw the line but everyone is different.

My macbook isn't my only computer and I simply couldn't trust it enough to really use it until I had Linux installed on it. I still do most of my work on a PC that I trust even more.

Same. I trust my Linux only desktop more. The lack of FDE or a user friendly solution would make it difficult for me to use daily. Apple hardware is fantastic. I'm definitely going to support and closely follow this project.
