It was using a Coldcard for the first time that I realized that this was serious business.
Make it too seamless and people wonât differentiate between self-custody and holding their wealth in an exchange wallet.

Absolutely! Just talking about my personal experience. To me, the complexity made my research more about self-custody and appreciate the self sovereignty of it
I have not heard the rest of the case for that point but it sounds highly copium.
I think it comes down to user preference but for me the initial complexity of signing an airgaped transaction made me want to understand more about the different treath models and trade-offs of different HWWs

Iâm not saying everyone should use a Coldcard, but I think it is important to highlight the importance of self-custody which, IN MY CASE, happened when going through setting up an airgaped wallet and signing my first transaction.
Trade-offs are a thing, UX is improving, hopefully a perfect solution comes along at some point but for now, it doesnât exist
Also, people arenât handling life savings on NOSTR. I can accept much more compromises and trade-offs from my NOSTR client than from my HWW
