Exactly. Who care about some No Name Bank folding??

Okay, so I tried explaining to my coworker who buys gold, that gold will never be an economic standard again because it's used in plenty of electronics and other things now, and something being used in commodities can't be a standard of economy

And he's like "when the computers go down, all that will be left is what you hold in your hand"

To stop myself from further ranting out of frustration, the summary is, I'm slowly coming to terms that some people will not understand the future before it hits them like a bag of bricks

Because an hour and a half of googling, pulling up facts, and explaining things as simple as i could, a 44 year old man still told me I was wrong🙃🫠

You can't tell me we haven't been ideologically subverted to choose personal opinions over facts

Sorry

Rant over🫡🫶

The whole, “I only believe in things I can touch” argument falls apart when looking at the future with CBDC

HE WOULDNT ACCPET THAT

Literally would look at my phone screen, look back at me, and go back to his prior argument

I was talking to a brick wall, and it hurt my head like I was running into it

Been there myself, with people who won't ponder on your point but only continue to run the loop that's in their own heads.

Now with this additional info, I wonder if your friend is a lost cause...

No one is a lost cause, but he'll have to learn to drink on his own like #[7] said

I'll do my part and give him the resources

If he can't make fire, that's his fault🤷‍♂️🫂

Kudos for holding out hope.

I have no hope, only faith that I'll try my best, others can do with it what they will🫶

Also, if he is buying Gold then he’s closer to understanding Bitcoin than most Normies

That's why I tried to talk to him

And this was 9 hours ago now, and I'm still frustrated when I think about it

I can't help but feel like if I had made better points or done something better, I could've helped him understand something different

He hates social media tho, but is somewhat intrigued by the idea of Nostr and how it takes control away from others and puts it in your hands

So working on getting him on here

Does he own any Bitcoin?

He sees the Need for Hard Assets. So he will ultimately LOVE Bitcoin…

What is his Main Objection or Concerns?

Remember, we can lead a horse to water…but we can’t make him drink. He’ll do that when he’s ready

No

Hates the idea of a digital currency

And refuses to learn about it

Like he's right at the cusp of understanding why it's better

But. Doesn't. Want. To. Drink.

Last Resort: Buy $100 worth of Bitcoin for him. Tell him he can Buy it back for $100 whenever he is ready.

Put it in Cold Storage. Now he owns Bitcoin. I’ve done this with the extra stubborn people in my life. Typically their interest level moves up. He will keep one eye on the price and start to feel the FOMO eventually (might take a couple years)…but it’s a marathon not a sprint.

Ultimately, he’s responsible for his own decision to not purchase it… And he will have to live with the consequences

I'll stick 100 sats in an account for him🤣🤣

It ain't that deep

If he was more willing to learn or be open minded, I'd consider it

But I'd rather zap it out or put it aside for family

We’ll send him Zaps if he joins NOSTR

Well fuck, lemme get his ass on here, I'll send him 1k too, and show him how to zap others

Getting him on here might be a stepping stone for him.

I hope so

He's intrigued by the relays and how all that works

Idk how interested I can get him in actually engaging on here and learning

You can only lead him to the water. 😉

Imma throw two sticks at his ass and see if he makes fire 🔥 🤷‍♂️

😆😆

Thanks for the zap, btw!

Ik not what you speak of🫣❤️

If the internet goes down, the state of the world would be in such a place that no one would want his gold either (not that he could go out and buy anything random right now with it). People would want tangible things they can consume or skills that can help them to survive.

BRO FUCKING RIGHT?

You have no idea how many times that argument went in circles

His argument revolved around "in the medieval times it was used as currency why wouldn't it work now"

Mine revolved around " there wouldn't even be a level of society in place for a form of currency to be created. One already in place and readily available is needed"

I'd then try to explain satoshis and the premise behind it

That was another fucking rabbit hole that just led back to "it worked in medieval times" like bro. Fucking listen.

Well, precisely that: it worked then until it stopped working. That's why it won't work again...

I feel your frustration.

Thank you, I appreciate it

It won’t need*

you could argue that adoption grows through people understanding BTC through the lens of the old legacy system, it’s not pretty but it still helps.

Few.

What’s everyone using for tracking for tax purposes? What’s good?

Banks will need #Bitcoin to survive #Inevitable just matter of when

Silicon Valley Bank $SIVB online banking system and mobile services are now unavailable for business clients.

The stock is down over 80% today alone.. after dumping 60% on Thursday...

#Bitcoin hashrate never higher running 💯 better than ever.
