I have one really BIG IDEA that is original and that few people share or bother to understand.

Itโ€™s that AI, no matter how much it advances, will never compete with human intelligence. There will be no real AGI ever.

I make the case for it in two places.

EASY TO UNDERSTAND CASE:

HARDER BUT MORE REWARDING CASE:

"Few people share or bother to understand "

Few

Let that sink in

I plugged your article into perplexity and it thinks youโ€™re wrong ๐Ÿคฃ

Itโ€™s perplexed

I tend to agree. It will only ever be an imitation of the real thing.

It is likely to replace a lot of jobs done by people though, so the overall impact it will have on society is yet to be seen.

Same thing as when we start using (heavy) machinery. You don't need ppl to do "the work" but you need the ppl to design, make and maintain the machines. And much more efficiently then ever before.

I don't expect it will be different this time.

Yes many will loose their legacy jobs. And many new positions will emerge.
