…and they will need #[4]​‘s approach to embedding images in notes. Without that there’s no alt text for images. That’s essential for blind users. You can be sued if you don’t have it…

IMHO we’re in beta right now. We shouldn’t be worried about breaking backwards compatibility. The numbers of users we have now is nothing compared to a year or 10 from now. Get it right early!

Alt text can be embedded in metadata and fetched by the client! 🐶🐾🫡

But the alt text won’t be there unless it’s in a NIP and no NIP even strongly suggests it. #[4]​ implemented something that gave alt text, and hashes (that are great for proactively doing take downs of content relays don’t want on their sever) and he did it in a way that complied with all the Nostr norms and got crucified for it.

I’m #TeamVitor on NIP-94 (but not on NIP-95).

NIP-94 and NIP-95 have their place, but not for media. Alt text can and should be implemented for sure, but not like that. I am not taking sides here, I am more on a common sense and experience side! 🐶🐾🫡
