Have you read all the studies by experts? Ive read enough of them that I can usually detect good studies from bad ones. The studies (not that book) are what matter.
Yes, I trust subject matter experts who spend their lives trying to get to the truth. As a gay man who came out at the height of the AIDS pandemic, experts liked those saved lives like mine. I’d probably be dead if it weren’t for people like that.
But I’ve read And The Band Played On - so I see how horrible it is when those experts aren’t funded and when they’re ignored.

Exactly. People have forgotten how horrible some of these diseases are, so they don’t see why we accept the milder risk of #vaccines.
People have forgotten how devastating the constant boom & bust economy was in the 17 & 1800s, so they don’t understand how #TheFed is better.
People have forgotten how horrible autocratic governments are (because they stopped being interested in what’s happening around the world), so they can’t see the danger in the #politicians they elect.
With the GOP fully in charge next year, I’m expecting a big change back to sanity in 2026. At least that’s my hope. Maybe I’m just too big of an optimist.

NYC doesn’t have nearly the issues with the homeless/unhoused that the rest of the nation has. The reason is we have a right to shelter almost no one else has. The City has to provide shelter even if you’re an undocumented alien shipped here by a red state. While we have some free public toilets - it’s the right to shelter that makes the biggest difference.

Breitbart doesn’t have a clue what we liberals think. It would be more accurate to say most liberals think Biden should never have run for a 2nd term. I really like Harris, but what we needed was a full primary process — it would have produced a better candidate - even if that candidate was Harris. Having been immersed in Christianity as a kid, with exposure to many of its denominations, I generally agree.
But there are exceptions… I still very much respect many Episcopalians, Church of God and other liberal branches that truly follow the teachings of Jesus.
That said, when you look at the bulk of Christian history what stands out are the wars and the oppression carried out falsely in the name of Jesus. This is continues to be very true today with the Christian Nationalists trying to force their beliefs on others.

I generally agree with you in relation to communism. Socialism is a really broad concept. On the more extreme bits we agree. On the more mild bits we disagree. I’d also say that Jesus was a socialist (far more so than me). So I’m surprised with you having an issue with it.
But basically I don’t see those 3 things as equivalents. Each is quite a distinct thing.

Since there’s no canonical website for Nostr all the various sites that make Nostr content crawlable for search engines will appear to be spammy to the search engines since would appear they’re copying each others’ content.
But that is what it is - it’s the nature of the beast. But it’s something to consider…
