Not sure which client you are using. Some clients allow you to turn off unpaid relays for your universe feed.

You’ll reduce spam, and noise at the expense of reducing new profiles you might otherwise discover through the universe feed.

I usually use Amethyst, but I dabble in a number of the web clients (#Snort, #Nostrgram, #Iris, etc.) when I have a wifi connection.

You can customize your amethyst relay settings to only

use paid relays for e.g. your universe feed
