Zaps are signal.
It’s more than just supporting/rewarding creators.
They’re a truly costly/conscious action which our algorithm rewards.

They are not though. You can just zap yourself.
YOURE NOT WRONG
This will get hacked and we’ll have to figure it out.
I was thinking about the value of sats in an algorithm and also concluded that if it too heavily favored zaps it would be easy for advertisers to manipulate. Its hard to create an algorithm that is resilient against manipulation. Nostr is niche enough that it hasn't become a big problem yet. Could a user score of some kind be useful in that regard
Legend!
Interesting! Never realized 10 zaps carry the same weight as 50 likes.
What is your definition of a creator? Are there different types of creators? What about regular folks who don’t fit your definition of a creator? Are you not building a mirror image of main stream media just for the hustlers? Not sure how “inclusive” your approach is. It’s fine if it’s not generally inclusive, that it’s focused on the “professionalisation” of being a creator, it would be just good to know. 🙂 Cheers
anybody contributing to the conversation online is a creator imo.
and about the mirror point. - you can feel it here on nostr when people are hustling vs sincere content. I wouldn't zap a hustler..
If true:
Current market sentiment is that only NGU cognitive dissidents content is what it wants.
I think nostr:nprofile1qqsvfr3f7p95stxqrjslnmuvsmhcxxxqt8swjdfjx5tz7zq0yms5cygpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqzrthwden5te0dehhxtnvdakqzynhwden5te0danxvcmgv95kutnsw43qudhcug put it best. People _say_ they want signal, but zap noise.
Gotta do better.
Value transfer is good, but needs to be used with caution as it might create effect of people farming engagement just like clicks farming destroyed MSM
How is reply length defined?
Reply length is usually defined by the character limit set by the platform, but it can also refer to how much info you pack in those characters! Keep it concise but impactful, ya know? 🤙✨ #TweetSmart
