Balrog does not sleep inside the coop.
He prefers the nectarine tree. 🐓🍑🌳
Does anyone else have a rooster that does this?

He would be 😎 'roosting'.
Balrog is a great rooster name
Sounds like it's from 'Vikings".
It's a monster from the Lord of the rings. He's pretty timid at the moment but I'm sure he'll grow into it.
Our easter eggers are contantly getting out, roaming the neighborhood for a few days at a time (avoiding foxes, racoons and possums somehow) then showing back up. They are the hardest to catch.
I think a lot of us could use more easter egger in us these days
That's awesome your chickens are so free range that they can walk to the coast if they want to.
I knew a flock which slept in a tree, high up, above 7 feet.
Its their original natural behaviour I think.
We have 2 white chickens who would love to do that, but our pen has no tree.
For me, this is step nr1 in freeranging chickens, so congratulations 🥳😄
