My #wimhof breath retention results have dropped recently. I just did 4 rounds of 2 minute breath holds.

Lousy result...

I ask all nostriches to beat my result to challenge me to try harder.

Do the results, measured by breath hold time, really matter that much?

Isn't it that the process, the doing of the breath work, is what actually matters and has benefits?

I like to think about it this way. I usually get to 1:30 only, occasionally more.

I think it does because breath hold is what increases CO2 and alkalizes the blood. That leads to anti-bacterial and anti-viral pH change.

Everything over 1 minute is good in my book. I was able to do 2, 2, 2.5, 3 before holidays with ease.

I also use it as a proxy measure for stress in the body. If you can't so 1 minute, it's either technique, practice, or ... you're too stressed.

Did a few quick rounds. I rarely go beyond the 3 min mark

Relax all your muscles before starting.

Don't use a pillow to hold your head.

Be mindful at the lateral swealing of your lungs when breathing in.
