btw the real root reason behind all this in recent years has been the first most subtle symptoms of my type 2 diabetes - peripheral neuropathy, something that i think i am genetically prone to even outside of the sugar metabolism itself

my sense of touch is extremely acute, i have ridiculously accurate proprioception, i can often walk across a room in pitch darkness and barely fumble to open a door handle
